Brooklands Club
Sanctions for non-compliance with Protocols
The Club Board continues to manage and support the return to play for all sections. This comes with its challenges as being part of a sports club and playing on a team or as an individual against opposition is only part of it. The social side is equally as important to many of us. Our respective national governing bodies have worked hard to get us back playing. This includes what we can and cannot do post game in parallel with local area restrictions. So please can we remind you to maintain social distancing in the bar area and in front of the Clubhouse.
Unfortunately to date this has not always been happening. In view of this the Board has agreed that sanctions will be put in place for when Covid protocols are not observed. Sanctions being considered are warning system, individual suspensions, cancellation of fixtures and suspension of coaching sessions. These sanctions will be agreed with the sections.
One way system
The area in front of the Clubhouse by the cricket scorebox is at times becoming crowded. So to avoid crossing of paths in this area we are introducing a pedestrian one way system anticlockwise around the Clubhouse – see attached sign plan. Access to and from the astro will operate on a one way system. Signage and barriers will be installed (note the barriers will be moveable to allow emergency vehicles to access the pitch areas if required).
Access to green cabins will require the one way system to be observed.
Access to the tennis courts is unaffected other than when entering or leaving via the car park i.e. observe one way system.
Access to bowling green is unchanged.
Other points
In order to allow us to manage movement around the club and facilitate distancing:
Please do not move any benches.
Please do not stand or sit in the area on the balcony to front of and to the right of the bar entrance doors. Keeping this clear provides a clear passage for those entering and leaving the bar.
Please can all cyclists dismount in the car park before entering the pedestrian area around the Clubhouse. There must be no cycling around the Clubhouse, around the ground and across the ground to the tennis courts and cricket nets.
Please can sections ensure all visiting teams are fully briefed on how the one way system operates along with section’s Covid protocols .
We seek your full co-operation and assistance in observing and managing the Covid protocols and systems put in place to enable us to play sport in these difficult and unusual times we are living in.
Yours sincerely
David Garnett
